Neonatal Resuscitation and BLS/CPR certifications

These courses are not included with my course but are required if you want the certificate for this course. The basics of NRP and BLS will be reviewed in relation to how we use them in Midwifery, but these are stand alone certifications issued by Heart Associations. They can be obtained in your local community. They vary on cost according to local instructors’ hands on cost. I completed my re-certification in 2023 and it cost me approx. $200 for NRP and $120 for BLS. A lot of employers are willing to pay this certification so check with the Midwife you are working with.

** FYI- you will see the online course for sale, but you will also need an in person course to get the certification. Both courses you have to take the online course first then schedule a in person evaluation demonstration with the local instructor so they can certify that you know how to the procedures.

So please do not just purchase the online course without checking with the checking in with a local certifying instructor.

You should also check with your employer to see if they require certain courses before enrolling, so you don’t waste time and money.

Clinical Skills

You will be required to demonstrate your ability to perform the tasks we teach with a Licensed Midwife.

You have 2 routes to complete these.

• Work with a local Midwife who is willing to observe you and sign you off (they have the right to charge for this service, so check with them if they are charging a fee)
• Attend one of our in-person weekend workshops here at The Antelope Valley Birth Center with me Tesa Kurin as the Preceptor. I will demonstrate and evaluate all required clinical skills for the course. This workshop is 2 days long. Total cost is $1200 for the 16 hour workshop and skills demonstration. Accommodation can be provided when coordinated in advance.

We can not tell you how much time you might need to study. Each student will have their own experience.  

You expect approximately 2-4 hours a week of listening to lectures. 

We created the lectures in this fabulous format that you can access from your phone, so you can listen while driving, exercising, or whatever you are doing. 

There will be a in course study group you are also able to access as well.  

Every Sunday (for the 10 week session)  at 3pm PST will be a live review session with the instructor or a guest speaker. 

This class was designed to meet California standards that the medical board has established. 

There is no NCCA accreditation in this course and we do not advertise as such.

Once you have completed and passed all the module exams with at least 80% pass rate, and completed the outlined Clinical evaluations. 

After meeting the requirements for graduation, you will be issued a certification document.  

In the state of California, we will also be continuing the experience with recertification every 5 years.  

At this time our course DOES NOT carry a  

National Commission for Certifying Agencies accreditation. 

Our program will supply each student who meets the program requirements a completion certificate which we will maintain a list of all graduating students for future reference.  

It is our intension to seek accreditation when the course meets the NCCA criteria.

You can attend one of the  weekend retreats we host.

The Midwife Assistant and Student Midwife Clinical Workshop is held quarterly at the Antelope Valley Birth Center and in a few locations around the country. 

The weekend workshop is 16 hours of intense hands on instruction and demonstration followed by opportunities for you to perform the clinical tasks and be evaluated for mastery. 

The weekend workshop is separate from the training course and needs to be purchased separately. 

Optional you can receive the clinical experience from a Midwife in your community. You will need to contact and organize this internship on your own. 

I suggest contacting a local Midwife opperated Birthing Center. 

You can participate in the Program for up to the end of week 2.  If you do the full course work, but don’t feel you’ve gotten full value or that we’ve delivered on our promise, and you email your work to [email protected] before the start of week 3, we may, in our sole discretion, refund the money you’ve paid us under this Agreement, less any external fees (e.g., credit card processing fees that we incur), subject to the following conditions:

• Deadline to Apply for a Refund. To be eligible for a refund, you must be a Midwife Assistant Training Program member who purchased the Midwife Assistant Training Program and you must submit your request no later the first day of week 3 or 14 days from registration. The deadline exists because if you sign up for Midwife Assistant Training Program, we want you to get started. If you don’t plan on starting right away but want to sign up for this session, we’d love to have you, but definitely make sure this is the right investment for you, as the refund does have a firm deadline.
• ​Completed Course Work. We’ll ask for your completed course work (to make sure you gave it a go) and ask what didn’t work for you (so we can learn and improve). You must email your course work to [email protected] before the deadline.

You are purchasing access for one (1) person to use Midwife Assistant Training Program (referred to below as the “the program”) from Midwife to Midwife, LLC (the “Company,” “we,” or “us”). Payment Policy

You are responsible to pay for the Midwife Assistant Training Program in full (including all applicable sales and other taxes or fees) and for providing us with a valid credit card or other payment method. If you select the payment plan, your card will be charged the first payment of $333 USD when you register and subsequent payments of $333 USD will automatically be charged on the same day of the month for 5 consecutive months, totaling $1998 USD. If you have selected a payment plan and you miss a payment, your account status will be changed to “delinquent.” You will immediately lose access to additional Modules and Bonuses and your access to the Site and all Content will be revoked seven (7) days after your payment declines. You will also not receive access to future versions of the Program as it’s released until all payments are made in full.

If your account remains in delinquent status for longer than sixty (60) days, the Company reserves the right to report any delinquent balance owed to a credit reporting bureau and/or collections agency subject to the Company’s sole discretion until the account is caught up and in good standing.

To be clear, Midwife Assistant Training Program is not a subscription payment model that can be canceled or a “pay in part” program where you can pay only for access to certain Modules and not others. This is a full immersion program, and your payment plan is a convenience that we offer.

The Refund Policy outlined below also applies to payment plans and you will be responsible for all payments in the payment plan.
